  • Availability of Wiring Schematic for K-Source Replacement Side Mirror for 1995 Lincoln Town Car
  • The K-Source Replacement Side Mirror # KS61593F is designed to plug directly into the connectors on your 1995 Lincoln Town Car so K-Source doesn't have a wiring schematic available. This mirror carries the power remote capability, heated glass, and memory function so, but these functions will only work if your Town Car already has those functions. If you're trying to figure out what wires are for what functions on your vehicle then you could possibly use a circuit tester like part # PTW2979...

  • Will the Curt Class II Hitch # C12130 fit 1988 and 1995 Lincoln Town Car
  • The Curt hitch you referenced, part # C12130 will fit a 1980-2010 Lincoln Town Car. It will indeed fit both of your vehicles. This being said, a hitch is not meant to be repeatedly installed and removed or swapped between vehicles. If it is removed and installed on a second vehicle, the manufacturer recommends using new hardware. A hardware kit can be purchased by ordering part # RHK, and typing "C12130" in the part number field. For installation details, click the provided link. I have...

  • Can Appearance Panel be Trimmed and Reinstalled After Hitch Installation on 2003 Lincoln Town Car
  • A lot of vehicles have those body or appearance panels. On the 2003 Lincoln Town Car it is not structural meaning that it isn't there to help hold the bumper or fascia up. It is basically helping to protect the metal parts above it from the elements. You might be able to reinstall the panel but it would require some extensive trimming and there aren't specific instructions that explain how to do so. Leaving it off is the way I would go. I have linked a video and the instructions to the...

  • Troubleshooting a Ball Mount Rusted to a Trailer Hitch
  • Sounds like your ball mount has rusted so badly that it is stuck in the hitch you have on your vehicle. What you will first want to do is liberally apply a spray lube like WD40 or liquid wrench to the ball mount. If the back of the hitch opening is open spray some down in there, down the front of the hitch opening and also on the hitch pin hole. Since you don't plan on using the ball mount anymore I would recommend taking a heavy hammer or sledge and hitting the ball mount into the hitch...

  • Using the etrailer e98873 Motorcycle Carrier on a 1997 Lincoln Town Car
  • I would not recommend using the etrailer Motorcycle Carrier # e98873 on your 1997 Lincoln Town Car. From the research I have done, your vehicle probably has a maximum tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs. Once you add the weight of the motorcycle carrier and weight of the item you are carrying you will probably exceed the limit of 200 lbs. I would recommend checking your owners manual for the tongue weight and trailer weight capacity of your vehicle and looking into a small trailer. If...

  • Depth of Flexco Manual Pull-Out Step Single SMFP-1120
  • The stored depth of this step from the center of the front mounting hole to the back of the slide bracket measures 11 inches. The height of the step will be 7 inches when it is stored. I have attached diagrams showing these measurements. To make sure this step will work for you, you will want to make sure that you have at least 11 inches behind the mounting location of the front bolt hole to install this step. As long as you have the 11 inches behind the front bolt hole, this step should...

  • We do not currently have a hitch to fit your 1997 Lincoln Continental, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C12130 is a fit for 1981 - 2011 Lincoln Town Cars not Continentals. • How to Carry 50 Pound Bike on 2004 Lincoln Town Car
  • For a 50 lb bike you will need a hitch bike rack on your 2004 Lincoln Town Car. For a hitch you can use the Curt # 13707. This is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver and a bolt-on installation. For a bike rack, I recommend the RockyMounts MonoRail Solo Bike Rack # RKY10007. This is a platform style rack that uses a wheel mount and has a 60 lb capacity. The rack also comes with keyed-alike locks to keep your bike and rack secure. If you ever end up needing to carry an additional bike...

  • I have attached a photo of the dress panel you are referring to. This will need to be removed when installing the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 41116-011 on your 2006 Lincoln Town Car. If you can tell me what you will be using the trailer hitch for I would be glad to make some additional recommendations for you.

  • What is the Maximum Speed Limit when Using Snow Tire Chains
  • When tire chains are installed we recommend not exceeding 40 miles per hour (lower if the speed limit is lower). Also, some vehicle owners manuals state a specific speed when chains are in place so you will want to look at the owners manual for your 2005 Lincoln Town Car. When I searched for a 2005 Lincoln Town Car through our fit guide Thule chains # TH01594240 did not come up as a fit for tire size 225/60-17. I have included a link to the chains that do fit that size tire. If you have...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2004 Lincoln Town Car
  • The Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler # D13503 would be an excellent choice for your 2004 Lincoln Town Car. This is a fairly large plate-fin transmission cooler that should do an excellent job keeping your transmission fluid cool. Other than the # D13503 you would also want the Derale Radiator Adapter # D13014 so that you would not have to cut or flare any lines. I attached an FAQ article on transmission coolers for you to check out also.

  • How Much Bumper Clearance Is Needed On a 2004 Lincoln Town Car with the Draw-Tite Hitch 41116-011
  • In order to find the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole on the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 41116-011 to the outermost edge of the bumper on your 2004 Lincoln Town Car you will need to measure from the pre-drilled hole in the frame (see photo) out to the end of your bumper. Once you have this measurement you will then need to subtract 22" as that will then give you your hitch pin hole to bumper clearance measurement. Unfortunately, we have not yet had...

  • Where to Mount the Derale Dual-Pass Heat Sink Transmission Cooler and How Does It Compare
  • The heat sink coolers like the Derale Dual-Pass Heat Sink Transmission Cooler, item # D13266, do not perform nearly as well as the traditional style coolers. These coolers have a single large cavity and do not force the liquid through a number of small cavities as a tube or plate and fin style cooler would. In comparison the heat sink style would not perform as well as the smallest plate and fin style transmission cooler. For your Town Car I would recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin...

  • Availability of and Installation of Class III Receiver Hitch for 2011 Lincoln Town Car
  • There are 2 Class III receiver hitches available for your 2011 Town Car, the Draw-Tite Class III, part # 41116 and the Curt Class III, part # 13707. Both Hitches will work great for you. Luckily enough, on your particular vehicle, the vast majority of the cross bar will be hidden behind the rear bumper structure, with a very small amount of the bottom of the cross bar and the receiver opening visible below the bumper. Town Car models with the dual exhaust will require the removal and...
